Vinland Saga Episode 24

SNK209 SPOILER: Thorfinn was just useless. That's it. I felt more connected to Askeladd and more invested in him than that whiny kid who just can't grow up. Ffs, I found it satisfying when he didn't get what he fought for mainly because when Askeladd offered him duels, he never learns the constant lesson of "keeping your cool". Safe to say, he got what he deserved, which is about as much as e contributes: NOTHING.

Kazuma11291 Well, that amounted to a whole lot of nothing. Askeladd was right though, Thor jr. was here in the show the entire time and he accomplished literally nothing. What a pointless character.

thouartbaka As a person who, Without exaggeration, watched almost every single anime title there is. Not a matter of personal opinion, but of a well-informed nature I write my first comment in this damned site i spent more than one lifetime on. This is without doubt; the best series as of this date. Similar to Askellad's gut feeling, For the first time, I feel that S2 would not disappoint. Unlike how many well-known series like NGNL was built up, where the authors often struggle with the consistency they started with | remember SAO?. S2S2S2S2!

OPotaku WATCH BEFORE READING: that was great! thors would have died for nothing if thorfinn never moved on with his life. if you think thors died just for thorfinn to get revenge then you really missed the point of this show and i guess it really was a waste of time for you. thorfinn got thors killed in the first place by tagging along to what he thought was WAR. by not listening to his father's wsdom he took on years of pain and brought pain to others. if thorfinn wasnt there we all know thors could have survived that situation against askeladd's crew. @DrJones: Same! I wanted thorfinn to know the part floki played in all of it. Askeladd was the gun but Floki was the shooter. Are you going to be mad at the hitman or the person who hired him? Askeladd was paid to take out thors. Askeladd wasnt there for some duel with thors. It sucks because askeladd was my favorite character just based on writing and I wanted to know more about him than what they told us explicitly. this was one of, if not the best anime this season. complex characters and dynamics(askeladd's character and his relationships with every other member of the cast says it all); robust development(canute alone had more growth than any character ive seen in a while going from timid mute to a king with blood on his hands); great action(most likely the reason why the people who are disappointed missing the nuances of this show made it this far in the first place). I dont need any complexity to enjoy something but this was done very well. I really enjoyed this season 1 ride. I'm apprehensive about season 2 since all the plot points seemed centered around askeladd's actions but after the performance of this season I'm definitely willing to give it a try. The title of this episode referred to this season as a PROLOGUE and how it ended implied we're going to meet new characters. the lazy exposition of a lot of anime keeps people use to being told everything but annoys me after the 700th show where two people who already know what they're talking about feel the need to explain what they both already know to each other. thats just lazy and too many stories get away with it. this show didnt treat its audience like they were stupid so it could keep all these great moments and not bloat it with a bunch of wasted scenes. there was a point to every scene. I may come back and watch this again soon. I've seen a lot of anime and have not seen much better than what i saw in this season. I almost didnt give this a chance.
