Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

Stories of old tell of four otherworldly heroes—wielding the sword, spear, bow, and shield—who defended the land from wave after wave of calamity. With the fate of the world in balance, the kingdom of Melromarc summons these legendary figures; in modern-day Japan, the call is answered, and the unwitting heroes are transported to this fantasy universe. Thrust into Melromarc and given the title of "Shield Hero," otaku Naofumi Iwatani is labeled the weakest due to his lack of offensive capability and apparent inexperience. When the heroes part ways to start their journeys, he only has one willing companion: the beautiful princess Malty Melromarc. However, she soon betrays him, steals all his money, and accuses him of taking advantage of her. For his alleged crimes, Naofumi is branded a criminal and made outcast of society. With hatred filling his heart, he sets out alone, vowing vengeance against those who wronged him.

crumbum36 Dont let anyone disuade you from watching this. There is a TON of content still out there. the author had finished the web novel years ago, the manga borrows from the light novel, which has 22 volumes of content, and even if that wasnt the case, they would only be aboue half way through the manga, they have a while to go yet .

Chypotlay Really good adaption of the source material that has been further enriched with fitting content. Some minor details and qualitative good and hasn't gotten worse 17 episodes in. The slow sequences with a few single pictures instead of animated content fit well and don't feel like a cheap way to add episode run time. The rare use of CGI , well... there is worse but also much better to be found these days. Soundtrack is also good with some memorable pieces. By any means not perfect, but really good and it get's you hooked. 8/10

1010011010 @Phantom09123 and GrimDark, I can understand your perspective, but without those character's the main character would just be an anime not worth watching at all. Yes I can feel your pain since I've been there myself but that doesn't mean that you can just exile all of the people that actually gives a sh*t you, just like for this main character. Now that I'm done with my ranting, the anime is very well made and may make your want to punch a brick wall, but that's what makes this anime so good. You can tell how much time and effort the creators took into making this and making us feel the same pain as the main character is going through.

hellwalker Frist, i like harems. Because i m a male and see lots of cuties on screen and they are fun. That s all. Mostly without a good topic where most of the harems have only topic of gather girls, increase ero powers and baam. Win the fights. But best ones are not harems while there are some exceptions like DxD. Examples? one piece, naruto, bleach, fairy tail (it has some ero fun times but that s only momentary) Their manga are also at toppest quality. Because they have real good topics. Who wouldnt like madara or aizen ?(last arc should also be animated, those quincys) Anyway even this anime has some harem characteristic, not too much and not abused like DxD and its oppais, or other oppai ones. So this has some quality but at 10 it deserves 8,5 at most.

mad199109 Ironically enough, all the haters commenting and this series is still at a solid 9.3 rating mid-way through series. It's one of the top 3 series of the season, unarguable. If you want to waste your time with a comment that will amount to absolutely nothing, feel free to flame. But if you have some brains and common sense, you would research the ratings on the top sites for anime and realize your own folly in taste. The series is a solid 9/10 with the 1/10 coming in where the twist happens. But for that, you have to be a little bit "grown" and understand the concept of character and plot development. If you can't do that, continue watching your Power Rangers based shows where the MC is OP OP from the get-go. It's projection. And most of the viewers want a taste of it, because they'll never come close to scathing that realization. Mic drop. 3 kings of this season are The Promised Neverland, Mob Psycho, and The Rising of The Shield Hero. Don't argue with me, because I can cite proof and lots of numbers to shut down the ignorant.

Lmaoemo The first episode is the go to when it comes to this one, if you wont get hooked by it. Then dont bother, as our shield hero gets into more trouble and finds himself in a real pinch humans show their true nature. And that is the reason I love this. The true Dark side of mankind shows and it makes my blood boil when I see injustice! Gad watch it! x'D

AbyssGearSyxx Weak start, progressively better middle portion with very weak climax moments. Feels exactly like one of them "New World " animes except instead of giving the main character everything, they have everything taken away from them and have a bit less of a chance of becoming strong. If they had zero chance you'd not watch it. I rate it a 6. It just feels like it's mostly filler and when you do have a major moment it feels like it's done wrong. It's certainly better to watch than a magical girl anime, but don't be surprised, there is a small dose of that in here too.

Triman25 erm guys there are 50 chapters of manga and that hasnt been finished yet about a fifth of the way through there was a duel well, if you consider yugi always wins well, the spear guy was LOSING if there was no interference well, hostage, I mean the ONLY times yugi has lost which is two times by the way, is well, one when Kaiba was prepared to basically commit suicide and when well the pharaoh got manipulated. so character flaws. The show vs Manga is well his shield has more forms in the manga the only shields with a direct orthodox way of fighting is the dog shield and curse shield the manga explains stuff wayyy better as for the queen coming back well your own comments foreshadow whats gonna happen Heres some: garbage

niiiv I insanely enjoyed manga. Its probably going to be next big thing if it holds everything on the same pace. At first I thought that its "Wtf shield? Lame, hero crap". But i gave it a try anyway and I was wrong, its good. Following that one episode i readed whole manga to the last chapter. And waiting for more. I wish it to be "dark" fantasy but I guess its not over. That would be a dream come true.

KinD The Rise of the Shield Hero - unlike previous Isekai animes that came out recently, that have the protagonist live through a power fantasy on steroids and girls fall for the copy and paste protagonist right off the bat, this anime... has some elements of the harem part later on and follows the sort of revenge and I supposed coined term "edgy" protagonist. Overall, this series I refreshing to see from the Isekai anime genre and though its not the only one of its kind in the world it is enjoying the nonetheless and definitely hits the genre and theme of the story it was going for in a good way. Also though this is based of the scenes of the first episode, what they did to represent the skill tree in the show is really nice touch when they could have just made it a bland skill tree on screen.

ZhonLord Episode 1 is an interesting start to what's a clearly passionate isekai anime. The worldbuilding and different starting plot creates a unique style and flavor that isn't seen in many other shows of the same genre. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next, especially after reading some of the hype over this coming from a very popular manga. But I have exactly one problem: EVERYONE KNOWS THAT A GOOD PARTY NEEDS A FRONTLINE TANK! In every rpg, whether it be video game or tabletop, having a tank who can take more punishment than anyone else is CRUCIAL to protecting the squishies in the party. The tank pulls enemy attention, survives what no one else can, it is critical to have a good one when facing any serious threat. The swordman even said he plays a lot of RPG's, he should know this even if no one else does. And yet here they all are, treating the defender like garbage. It's forced in a way that made it very hard for me to get invested until the betrayal mentioned in the description above, only after that does the story begin to take off and be interesting. I really hope they drop the "shield is worthless" crap fast otherwise I'm going to have a very hard time enjoying the good parts of this one.

Saikot-Yuu Awesome anime. Basically It wasn't a harem and has a good story. At least the MC has some nerve. He's not nervous like some other shit anime. I like his personality after he was cheated. The way his rage is shown when he talks is amazing. I would like it if he starts gaining attack skills. No one likes a MC who's depended on others. Keep up the good work.
