This means that these people's mental capacity to empathize is compromised. Making everyone who attacks Rudeus's past or current character flaws a psychopath in my eyes. Yes, you can have huge character flaws making you into a sleazy, perverted, self-interested and self-centered douche. But these people are still humans, they had their own lives and reasons why they reached that point.. And these people will carry baggage that will negatively affect their lives (especially if they're struggling with internal demons like the MC did this time)- but if they still manage to do something kind, thoughtful or anything similar through all of that, you SHOULD support them, instead of attacking them or their numerous weaknesses. I have no doubt that most people who're attacking this MC's character flaws are more flawed than anyone can imagine, and I have no question that if they looked at a mirror, they'd see a monster looking back.
