It was rocky in the middle but picked up, looking forward to the ones ahead.

holy fuck, what a bullshit excuse to abuse and emotionally torture someone. That shit causes trauma. Terrible parenting and terrible teaching.

This is a weird conversation. She says 3 years passed with her traveling and having different experiences. That probably means there's a time skip between everything that happens in the episode before the credits start and her monologue at the end, I'm guessing the main story begins next episode three years after the events in this episode. Also, this isn't a translation error or someone changing subtitles. The audio says jyuu-hassai which is 18.

@Kario I don't think it has anything to do with that, I think they did it because more often than not anime's claim a character is 15 or something but the character looks like an 18 year old, not a 15 year old

@Kario it makes me feel comfortable watching normally uncomfortable scene's but I get where you are coming from. If they can't stick to their own story, then who is it really for?

@Kario I was going to say about that as on 1st inspection I thought it was just an error but it makes sense now, Not surprising really since sub writers have even been caught inserting feminist messaging where there was none. I can understand when they change things for young kids timeslots, though it's still fake & ghay, but these same "bleeepety bleeps" are already ruining anything fun at the hint someoone somewheremay be offended.

This story seems to have some potential, though they really condensed a lot into the first episode. Be interesting to see where she goes from here! A good start :))x

Kario
Cute episode 1 but honestly am a bit more annoyed than should be that at least the subtitles say she is 18 when the episode clearly expressed she is currently 15, sense she graduated at 14 spent one month looking for a full Witch to train her in town. Then spent a month being the maid for her Witch, and a year training... So she is 15 or nearing 16... Dam western aka American forced standards on many anime, so stupid sense in Japan being under 18 and in situations like Elaina's or worse in some ways because age and culture is vastly different in Japan where most anime is created.
