During a protracted civil war that pitted the North against the South, the outnumbered Northerners used dark magical arts to create monstrous super-soldiers—Incarnates. Now that the war has ended, those Sacred Beasts must learn how to make their way in a peaceful society, or face death at the hands of a Beast Hunter... Nancy Schaal Bancroft, the daughter of an Incarnate soldier who met an untimely end at the hands of one such Beast Hunter, turns to hunting the hunter herself. Renae8p1 Its okay, seems like a cool anime, not really my style though. If your into after war kinda deals... I guess? I didn't watch the whole season, but I think that's around the gist of it.

ZhonLord To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts is yet another mixed-bag anime, with great strengths but also with weaknesses that reduce the overall impact. It starts out portraying a story of what happens to people who live through war and are suddenly no longer needed by society when the conflict ends, alongside a bystander’s attempts to understand the mindset and world that these veterans come from. It makes several great strides with this concept but then… wastes it with two specific scenes. Animation is fantastic, the music outside of the opening scene very much quiet background that enhances the mood instead of drawing attention away from events. The world is a fascinating one; obviously built as a parallel to the US Civil War – over simple resources instead of more complex and politically charged issues – but with the tide being turned by the development of Incarnates, people who transform into mythological beasts on the battlefield as living weapons. After the war they’re cast aside instead of treated like heroes, and the way that’s portrayed is excellent as well as depressingly believable. Hank in particular is a strong portrayal of the soldier without a purpose, making one for himself in protecting the reunited nation against any Incarnates who would harm it. The other main character, Schaal, goes through an excellent development from simple orphanage runner to determined participant in the conflict, largely through the understanding she gains and the decisions she makes. The rest of the cast unfortunately does not get the same treatment – the other Incarnates they come across are mostly great, but the human cast as well as primary antagonist Cain are given a very poor amount of development or reasons to root for them. Cain especially is a disappointment – a mix of “Why should we simply die off, I’ll take destiny into my own hands” and “Destroy these puny humans”; if they had kept him strictly in the first category as an even-tempered soul he would have been one of the best villains in anime history for his corrupted idea of justice and retribution. Instead he becomes a typical madman archetype who doesn’t have any likeability as a villain. The finale is the second disappointment – I won’t spoil it, but suffice it to say that the last few minutes turn into old well-tread tropes that kill the momentum this series had built. As of Season 1’s end, I can only give Sacred Beasts a 7.5/10 for its great ideas but poor final execution. If it gets a second season I’ll watch it, but if it doesn’t then this one is likely to fade away into the endless sea of “good but not great”.

Ichhigopro I like it , it has a great concept war monsters made from genetic mutation, gone wild. What it spells out for me is monster hunter family’s burdened by they new monster family members and lots of sad deaths, Maybe a search for a cure and revenge! Can’t wait for more
