Chypotlay Manga is currently at chapter 38 and the 1st season used everything up to chapter 29. Plus, the current story line hasn't even played out yet. Give it at least another 5 to 10 chapters and they can even consider making a 2nd season. My bet is late 2020 at the earliest and

German_Eagle Some morals from the story: One can have a fulfilled life without necessary achieving big things. If you wanna do good, start by doing it around you first. That one hero guy isn't necessarily better than other people doing more trivial or simpler looking tasks than him, for everyone has his role in the Universe's/God's plan. No job is a dumb job, even the smallest one you think is tedious, commonplace and that procures no gratification whatsoever, the one that seems most ridiculous and that society finds intolerable and feels contempt about. Do what you like and be the best at it and you'll make yourself an expert name......etc. It's a great anime. 8.8/10

Virjunior @AbyssGearSyxx - this show has a fair amount of problems, but none of what you mentioned. It was all accounted for and sensical... not to mention, explained earlier. A goblin lord is basically a gold or platinum (mentioned early in the show) while GS is only a silver. He's up there, but nowhere near the best. He also notes DURING THIS EPISODE that he's not used to fighting these face to face. He generally uses ambush and surprise tactics, as he ALSO says the goblins often use against others, but don't expect. And as far as the "everyone values you," yes... the Cleric and all of her spoken lines are bad, but that's very clearly because whoever originally created this was a slight bit of a hack... if an editor influenced the creation or mannerisms of her character, I wouldn't be surprised, she's so bad. It's like somebody stuck generic Japanese schoolgirl wimp #476 in the middle of a gritty D&D campaign... it just doesn't fit. The way to make her line/sentiment less cringey AND more believable is simple, if cliche... she could've said "you're not alone anymore. You haven't been since we met." Then he could look around at everyone after she asks him to take his helmet off, and the viewer would organically see the catharsis they want - finally, he is valued by more than his small band. We've seen throughout the show that GS provides a necessary service that others would shit all over, but now, his entire community of adventurers has seen for themselves how awful goblins are, what they're capable of, how their colleagues and competition fight, and the sound tactics GS can employ against a small army of the filthy little monsters. This property would be so much better if the cleric was handled differently, but Nihon gonna Nihon. Only one in 50 shows can get by without a mid-teens jailbait girl in the main cast 9_9. Anyway, I liked the spear guy's validation of badassitude, the gorgeous chocolate Amazon (I love playing Amazon and Elf in Dragon's Crown), the busty fan service sorceress being a little TOO chill (she also reminds me of Sorceress from Dragon's Crown), and the biggest factor that stood out to me: as this whole world is literally just a tabletop RPG that came to life (the gods threw dice until they were tired = a gaming session), the names are not particularly important, and so NOBODY has a name. There are only titles like Goblin Slayer and Sword Maiden, then the Elven and Dwarven names for the Goblin Slayer title, likely racial changes made as bards shared the songs and they made their way into different cultures... and slang like "Long-Ears" and "Scaley." That's part of why it's fine not seeing his face. GS is like Master Chief John 117 from Halo, or Judge Dredd (Karl Urban version... funny, because Karl was also in Lord of the Rings). We don't need to see his face, because ultimately, it doesn't matter. Not at this point anyway. He has not regained enough range of emotion to make his face even a factor at all from a storytelling perspective. Everything we need to know, we see from flashbacks, his method of speech, his thought patterns, and his body language. Think of a character like You Narukami from Persona 5. Be it the anime OR the game OR the manga, there's a reason his face is left intentionally blank. It's not just funny, but it's ONLY funny because his character IS blank. Hope you enjoy the wall of text. Will watch season 2, but man, I HAAAAATE the cleric.

QuihaSm3 I find this anime very interesting. It wasn't as gruesome as I wanted it to be in a sense, plus...the goblins taking women hostage and raping and pilliaging had a nice touch on it. Couldve been more though. Hehe. Besides that, I still think since the status of this anime is still OnGoing, by the end of it...they better show his face. Cause even the flashbacks of him being a kiddo, they never really showed much of his face. I still love the anime though and would repeatedly watch it again. Oh and what makes it even better, is I went through a whole 12 episodes in less than 8 hours.~ Normally, it takes me less time. So. It wasn't that bad. Bring it ON!!!! :D

theone19 Everything was fine and I totally loved the entire anime, the only thing was, the fight between him and the goblin lord was super lame. I kinda felt cheated on the lord fight after such a good anime.

AbyssGearSyxx I dislike this ending funny enough. So the seasoned goblin killer isn't even prepared for the battle he himself predicted? And also he only got 1 gold even though he totally destroyed the Goblin Lord's nest just before then. That's why it was a distraction... The proof is that he was covered in blood. So he obviously didn't find a single weapon that would've helped him at all? And yeah the adventurers are nice and all but the whole reason why he stooped so low, throwing his dignity to the wind is that the adventurers WOULD NOT actually come to his aid if he had posted it like a regular quest. The "everyone values you" bullshit is actually annoying after this series set a tone for the opposite. I am all for good outcomes but even him being near death feels like a broken record when he does it a few times in a row. I liked the middle and hate the end and start. Please do retire.

dracoslayer16 I'm glad they decided to leave his face partially secret. With this show being a DnD session, his character is what's important, not his appearance. All the bits about him not letting the gods roll the dice is he uses sure fire tactics rather than simply attacking and rolling for damage. Why roll the dice when you can toss a torch and burn everything then walk away. Don't rely on chance, don't depend on RNG, be creative and force the world's hand.

Metalsand Fucking cool. The manga stops right here, and the light novels continue AFAIK so there should be a ton of content without them going off the rails. I haven't read the LN yet though, because I wanted to be spoiled by the anime....though, with a year long wait, I have a feeling I will be reading up on it.
