IntenseIntrovert I've just wrote 2 huge comments under the previous 2 episodes, so I will try to limit myself to someting shorter and faster here, as I don't have much time: 1) If Chocho doesn't develop any other character traits apart from loving food and pretty boys I don't think I will be able to like her anytime soon. I appreciate her design: she is very girly and pretty, despite or rather BECAUSE being 'pleasantly plump' (to use the words with which her father Choji used to describe himself), she has cute voice, mannerisms and style, but... she sorely lacks any character depth for me, so far. She's mostly silly, shallow and selfish, and horribly lazy, which is why she only knows one (?) basic technique after 169 episodes, and the way and reason why she awakened her full 'butterfly mode' was ridiculous, compared to the EPIC way and reason her father was able to achieve it and then master it. The episode where Chocho supposedly 'learned to control it' was one of the worst episodes of the whole series in my opinion (the one where they paired her with the ridiculously downgraded Anko-sensei, to make everything worse). I also don't like the way they make her eat ALL THE TIME, and using bags of chips as a metaphore to solve every problem - it's supposed to be funny, but it's lame, repetitive and boring. I mean... Choji was (and still is) also a big fan of good food, of course - but the way I remember it from the original series is that he was mostly eating in stress (for example while watching the Chunin exam battles), before the big battles (because his unique techniques requires it), or as a reward for some well done mission, not in EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of his waking life, like his daughter does... I'm glad that they both represent the 'big-boned people' - (to use another of his descriptions of himself) and I have no problem with their looks or with the fact that they need more food for their unique special family jutsus. I think that Choji was manly even before his 'butterfly mode' and likewise his daughter is beautiful even without it... They both prove that you can be attactive, fit, healthy and happy at any size. That's a very positive message for the 'larger' viewers and that's all well and fine. But Choji was also likable as a character, having his own character traits, his own problems and desire to overcome them for himself, his family, his friends and his village, and for the peace of the world; while Chocho lacks any motivation to do anything at all, even for herself, except eating and flirting, and I find her utterly annoying. But enough about her. 2) I also think that both Shikadai and Inojin need to develop some more original character traits too, as well as some new fighting techniques. Again, as with Chocho - I like their design, they both combine the beauty of their mothers (epsecially Inojin) with the manliness and brains of their fathers (especially Shikadai), but they're both still too simple and too stagnant with their character growth, lacking motivation to improve themselves, lacking any problems to overcome or important life goals. And it's visible even in this episode - all 3 of them didn't do anything new, no new individual techniques, no new team strategy. There was a point earlier in the anime when at least Shikadai seemed to be more motivated and he tried to learn more wind style techniques from his mother Temari - why doesn't he use them here? Why are they still using the same basic strategy - Chocho and Inojin create the diversion and then Shikadai uses the shadow jutsu of his father? It's already been 169 episodes, and those characters really do have some potential, so why not develop it and make them grow somehow? But... Before someone asks 'So why do you watch it if all you do is complain?' etc - I do see some potential for this anime (finally), so I will end on a positive note: 4) At least Shinki doesn't disappoint here - even defeated he managed to use some new move and at least destroy the precious puppet stolen by the enemy, even if he was unable to win the fight. That's what I expect of Gaara's son and student. 5) to address the comment made by @IAmJusticex3 - I think the reason why such a formidable enemy didn't kill all the children in this episode was shown at the end of their fight: his 'bullet-shooting-arm' seemed to hurt, be depleted and emit smoke after being active for too long. So I quess even he has his limits, despite being seemingly 'inicible', which is actually interesting, as it gives some possibilities to defeat him in the future. I suspect that his ability is either some another 'super-ninja-tool', like the one used by Boruto to cheat on his Chunin exam, or it's some 'super-jutsu-pill' which he has to swallow, like the Otsutsuki clan members. And I guess he needs time or some sort of fuel to make his arm functional again, which is why he left our teen ninja alone, both in front of the bar/restaurant, and after the desert fight. I don't read the manga yet (because I know that it's very different from anime, although they are supposed to 'meet' at a certain point, and then I will catch up on reading), so if it's explaned there already please don't spoil, I enjoy creating my own theories ;) And finally 6) I'm glad that Boruto's and Sarada's training continues and that it still produces only moderate results - nothing too super overpowered and flashy yet, so all the hard work teaches them patience, preserverance and the power of will, as it should be. It will be all the more enjoyable and rewarding once they finally succeed, so their new power levels will be something truly earned with their own effort, and therefore more valuable for them (and more believable for the viewers) than just the fact that they're both 'awesome from the start', due to 'being born as a prodigy'.

IAmJusticex3 most inconsistent anime, dude kills everyone who sees him, shikadai looks him right in the eyes at the shop and he just walks away. ???
