IntenseIntrovert I always assume that it's just the general knowledge and the pure common sense, while visiting the anime streaming sites such as this one, that we should read the comments under each episode only AFTER watching the episode itself. But there is always this ONE clueless person (sometimes more, but at least that ONE lost soul), who doesn't know about that rule, or forgets about it, or is just too impatient to know what happens next, so they read the comments BEFORE watching, and then they complain about the 'spoilers'. (Even though 'spoilers' can only refer to the FUTURE episodes, not the one we currently come to watch here and then have a right to comment). Sooo... if you're reading my comment before watching this episode nr 308 - stop RIGHT NOW please, there is some huge plot twist here, so first watch the episode, then go on reading my comment, if you still want. Thank you. ---- Having said that... I have to write a SECOND WARNING - don't read my comment if you haven't read 'Harry Potter' books and/or haven't watched the movies yet, and you still want and plan to do that. Thanks again. ---- And now, finally, here's my comment: 1) This episode confirmed my new theory that Ichimaru Gin is basically the Severus Snape of Bleach, Aizen is Lord Voldemort and Rangiku Matsumoto is Lily Potter. If you don't know what the heck I am talking about, do yourself a favour, forget all the names I've just mentioned, and go and read all 7 'Harry Potter' books. (Yes, read the books, watching the films is NOT ENOUGH, although the films are true pieces of art in their own right). But extending my comparision: the fact that nobody could ever 'read' Gin's heart, the fact that he could hide his true thoughts and feelings so well - is like the occlumency art in which Snape was the true master too... Anyway... There are also differences between those characters, such as Gin's snake-like personality and the fact that he, while being a double-agent, secretely working to defeat his evil master all the time, wasn't exactly a 'good guy' either, and it seems to me that he was actually enjoying some cruelty done merely 'for fun', even when it wasn't absolutely necessary. Or at least I think so and that's my impression about him... I will read the manga (very carefully) after finishing the anime, to confirm or discard that suspicion/theory (and many others). Nevertheless, I do pity Gin's fate, his unhappy love, and his despair - leading him to that twisted path of crime and decades of plotting revenge, and I do pity Matsumoto's pain after losing him for the second and final time, because it's obvious that she truly loved him too, at least as a friend... Also, having learned that Aizen had 'stolen' something from her - and the story seems to suggest that he has somehow taken away part of her power, while feeding his Hogyoku - I might even look at her geral weakness in a kinder way, because perhaps she could have been be a much stronger fighter by now, if that didn't happen in her past. ---- And finally, 2) I have to say that even though Gin and Matsumoto's story made me sad in the first part of the episode, I couldn't stop a broad smile when Ichigo appeared on the scene of events, and his friend asked him about his LONG HAIR - A-ha! That motiff again! ;) I mean I know that his longer hair is partially the result of his 2000 hours of training in that.. special dimension when times flies much faster, but.. I still claim that there's nothing better then some LONGER HAIR to show character's new level of power, as I explained in my other comment, a few episodes ago. Aaaand, I just want to say that Ichigo had such a fantastic entrance, and he looks SO AWESOME in his new form, long hair, one sleeve, black chain on his arm and all, that I have sparks in my eyes, chils down my spine, butterflies in my stomach and goosebumps all over my skin! He matured from beatituful boyhood into some magnificent masculinity in a FANTASTIC way - and that look on his face is just PRICELESS, I mean he's frowning his eyebrows more than ever before, and under his longer hair it looks even more BADASS! And I admit that I laughed out loud when he just grabbed Aizen BY THE FACE and forced him to change the location of the fight! I literally thought: 'Hah, serves you right, you BASTARD!'... Ok, I know I'm getting overenthusiastic, so I better stop now - but YEAH, I'm tottaly HYPED for their fight! :D

15-year-old Kurosaki Ichigo is not your everyday high school student. He has from as far he can remember always had the ability to see ghosts and spirits. A fateful day arrives as Ichigo encounters the shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, who saves him and his family from a Hollow at the cost of injuring herself. During this encounter, with Rukia unable to defeat the hollow she transfers her shinigami powers into Ichigo. In the aftermath, unable to continue with her job, Rukia allows Ichigo to take on the role of a shinigami in her place as they together defeat the Hollows plaguing Ichigo's town.
