Zer0Slicer This is easily one of my top 10 anime I've ever scene If your looking for a dark fantasy anime that builds characters amazingly and all ways keeps you on the edge of your seat with amazing fight scenes this is one you'll enjoy. I highly recommend it and if you're not satisfied by the ending like many are i heard the manga is a great read. If it's not to your liking that's a shame and I hope you find something else that suits you better on this amazing site , have fun.

ZhonLord Akame Ga Kill is not for the faint of heart. It’s a story about assassins working to topple a kingdom, and as such it has a LOT of death and bloodshed. It also follows in the footsteps of the Ice and Fire novels, where no one – I mean NO ONE – is immune to being killed. If losing your favorite characters bothers you, or you can’t stand death and destruction in graphic detail, turn away now. If these things don’t bother you then you will find quite the impressive story here. Two aspects in particular stand out about this show. First, the characters have a surprising amount of depth to them. Gentle killers, ruthless protectors, warriors driven to seek strength above all else, they start as various tropes but then the show expands on them until they become something much more. Everyone gets a decent amount of screentime to make them more than throwaways, and with the way deaths happen there’s a significant impact to the loss of each ally and enemy. You see how it affects both sides, how it both cripples them and motivates them further. It’s excellent. The second thing is the unique artifacts that are wielded. Twelve in total, each weapon/armor has its own unique traits and abilities that add an element of unpredictability to the fights. Without these artifacts the show would have been much weaker, it would instantly be clear who wins / loses. With them, there are times where the tables are turned in a fantastic way, several of the villains are INSANELY deadly because of them and the action is turned up several notches as well. The combination of these two factors is what makes the show worth watching above all else. The animation is mostly high quality, with strong emotional expressions and very good fights. Music is pretty much unnoticeable except for two specific points. Pacing is alright, but several non-combat scenes could use improvement. The plot itself is far more than just “them bad, we good” which is always refreshing to see. The writing makes it uncertain except for a couple specific points, whether a character will live or die until the actual event occurs. And the finale manages to capture that empty feeling of “at what cost” that’s so hard for any form of entertainment to pull off effectively. Is Akame Ga Kill perfect? No, it has its flaws and annoyances same as any other show. But as dark stories go it’s definitely one of the stronger ones. If you think you have the stomach for it, start the first episode and give it a try.

castro only watched the first episode so far. the pacing is a little weird, it seems like they could have had some better explanation or dramatization for the moments where its supposed to hit you where it hurts. for seeming so edgy it felt like they couldve taken the humor out in certain spots and left it in the spotlight that its a fucked up moment but it doesnt seem terrible. its ok. it has me interested, but i cant say this is going to be anything to compete with my personal favorite shows. it looks like itll be worth a shot though

1049286 Kind of predictable in the way that they're trying so hard to NOT be predictable... Like a "hey, they probably think we'll expect this one thing so we're going to do the opposite", except that's a common thread of thought so the watcher is left with two avenues they can expect things to go down. It's either the expected route or the opposite (the expected-unexpected route). It's kind of hard to explain, but most everyone has experienced it before and that expected-unexpected thing is used pretty often in this.
