whachikan What the heck was THAT!?!!? So many things about this episode (in fact, this set of episodes) ticked me off, the determination to give equal time to the other team and develop their characters even though they're tangential to the story and probably won't show up again, the ridiculous over-analysis of every bloody play, the idiots in the crowd hyping how great the game is (seriously, have they never seen march madness? I've dozens of games as tight and dramatic as this one in real life) the asides to the girls' team in the crowd to literally just bloat the episode's run-time (I got so annoyed with those sequence I started skipping them), and then... after however many episodes this game has been going. THEY DON'T TELL US WHO WON!?!?! I mean, yes, the dramatic sucker-punch at the end is effective, but good grief, ending the episode with a down-key "Hey Mom, we won" (or lost) before the fade to end-credits would've felt right, but no... this show has become pure torture, and I say that as someone who likes the characters, likes the sport, and enjoys the Haikyu-esque plot structure. It's just SO BADLY PACED.

A stout, weak, yet highly passionate Sora Kurumatani enters Kuzuryuu High School with hopes that he'll fulfill his mother's wishes to dominate his first high school tournament. However, the basketball club—turned den for delinquents—does anything but play basketball! Its club members, Momoharu Hanazono, a skilled blocker who can do power jumps but is horrible at shooting, and his twin brother Chiaki, a talented point guard, has also lost interest in the sport. With just one game overwhelmed with adrenaline rush and excitement, and Sora's pure love for the game, the youth's burning out spirit for basketball rekindles.
